Nirmala Sitharaman to launch various projects in KK region

Koppal: Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to visit the districts in the Kalyana Karnataka region from Oct 15 to 17 to inaugurate several projects. She will officially launch various initiatives in Koppal on Oct 15, in Ballari on Oct 16, and in the Vijayanagara district on Oct 17. She will unveil projects that were developed with funding from the Union govt, as well as those that are still in progress. Among the projects, the finance minister will inaugurate a cold storage facility for farmers in Methgal village of Koppal taluk, a tamarind pulp processing centre in Vijayanagara district, a chilli powder and chilli flakes production centre in Ballari district, and a food processing unit in Raichur district. The finance minister’s visit is noteworthy, especially since all these constituencies are represented by MLAs and MPs elected from the Congress party. In response to the visit, BJP state executive member Dr Basavaraj Kyavatar remarked, “While the state govt is showing stepmotherly behaviour towards Kalyana Karnataka, the Union govt is extending its support and safeguarding us.”
