Mandya: The National Lok Adalat will be held in Mandya on Dec 13, with preparatory meetings planned across all seven taluks to facilitate the smooth settlement of cases.At the adalat, civil and criminal matters will be taken up for amicable resolution, including property disputes, partition suits, money recovery cases, suits under the Specific Relief Act, Motor Vehicle Claims (MVC), MMRD cases, maintenance and conjugal rights cases, compoundable criminal matters, cheque bounce cases, Land Acquisition Cases (LAC), and execution petitions.Lok Adalat benches will be constituted in the respective courts to ensure effective settlement.In addition to pending court cases, the adalat will also address pre-litigation matters such as bank loan recoveries, electricity and water bill disputes, labour issues, compoundable criminal cases, and matrimonial and family court disputes. Notices will be issued to both parties, and pre-sitting meetings will be organised to encourage conciliation-based settlement.No court fee is required for these proceedings, and parties may choose to appear through an advocate or in person, according to the principal district and sessions judge and chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, along with the member secretary of the Legal Services Authority.
