Mangaluru: A 13-year-old boy was remanded in an observation home after allegedly insulting women on the road as they were returning from work. A case was registered at Bantwal Town police station under Section 74 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of BNS, stating that an unknown scooter rider allegedly harassed women on the road between 7.30pm and 8pm on Aug 20. A case was registered at Bantwal Town police station under Section 74 of BNS in this regard.During the investigation, it was established from available evidence that the 13-year-old boy, living with his parents, committed the act. Accordingly, on Aug 26, the boy was questioned at his residence in the presence of his mother, and his statement was recorded. He was then produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, which remanded him in an observation home until Sept 2, police said.
