Belagavi: District minister Satish Jarkiholi on Tuesday inaugurated a new shooting training centre of the Karnataka police department near Paschapur village in the Yamakanamaradi constituency, calling it a moment of pride for the district. Addressing the gathering, the minister said Belagavi needed its own police shooting training facility. “Until now, police personnel depended on training centres in other districts or used army-related facilities. With the establishment of this centre, the police department can now conduct shooting practice and training independently,” he said. The minister added that the new facility would play a crucial role in strengthening the training infrastructure of the Karnataka police and enhancing the operational efficiency of personnel. SP Bhimashankar Guled, additional SPs RB Basargi and Ashok Zanzarwad, and other senior police officials were present.
