Kalaburagi: Eleven students from SRN Mehta School of Kalaburagi secured the first prize at the International Space Workshop held in Florida, USA, under the National Space Association last July. The competition featured 4,900 participants from 25 countries worldwide.Rural development and panchayat raj minister Priyank Kharge congratulated the students for presenting their project ‘IRA’ on sustainable space settlement and scientific accuracy. He stated, “Nothing is impossible to achieve. Continuous learning will help in your achievement.”Priyank, who is also the district minister, highlighted the state’s significant contribution to the space sector, noting, “The state’s contribution to the space sector is immense. Bengaluru is known as the space capital. The state has the pride of having great organisations like HAL and Isro. It contributed 60% in the preparation of technical requirements for the space sector and research in the defence sector.“He emphasised the importance of academic excellence in line with technological advancements, urging students to take bold steps towards the path of achievement. The minister also assured, saying, “The govt will always be behind you,” encouraging students to seize opportunities in fields such as space and information technology.
