Mandya: The Mandya district administration will celebrate Srirangapatna Dasara from Sept 25 to 28 with a range of cultural and traditional events aimed at showcasing the town’s rich heritage.Chairing the preparatory meeting on Thursday at Cauvery Hall, district minister N Cheluvarayaswamy stressed that this year’s programmes should be unique, diverse, and attractive to all sections of society.The Dasara procession will commence on Sept 25 at 3pm from Banni Mantap in Kirangur and culminate near the historic Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, where major cultural programmes will be staged to bring alive the history and cultural identity of Srirangapatna.Srirangapatna MLA Ramesh Bandisiddegowda suggested adding a cattle exhibition alongside traditional contests such as the milking competition, with attractive prizes for participants.DC Kumara informed that multiple sub-committees were formed. Notably, 50% of the stalls will be dedicated to a food festival, featuring signature dishes from across Karnataka. As part of Yoga Dasara, demonstrations and competitions will also be held, with schools and colleges encouraged to participate.
