Mandya: Deputy commissioner Kumara instructed officials to ensure there is no delay in govt development projects. He specifically told them to complete hostel and anganwadi centre construction and repair works within the scheduled time.Chairing a review meeting, held in response to instructions given at a meeting by the chief minister, Kumara noted that 30 different projects belonging to the minority welfare department are pending and must be completed quickly.“Hostel repair and new construction projects should be treated as priority so that children’s education is not hampered. Projects can be completed faster if officials take special care,” the DC said. “Contractors must finish the work within the specific time. If they take longer than the scheduled period, they will have to bear the additional cost. Anganwadi centres related projects must be finished quickly without any delay,” he added.The MIMS Cancer Care Centre has been constructed and will be inaugurated soon. Out of 166 classroom construction projects, 154 were completed. The DC directed that the remaining classrooms be well-equipped to prevent any inconvenience to students.
