Mandya: A brutal murder shook Mayappanahalli village in Mandya taluk in the early hours of Friday, where a villager was allegedly hacked to death by his elder brother and nephews following a long-standing property dispute.The victim is Yogesh, 35. The accused are his elder brother, Lingaraju, and Lingaraju’s two sons. Just two days ago, Yogesh’s marriage was finalised.According to police sources, the incident occurred inside the cattleshed of the family’s house. During a heated confrontation over property, the accused allegedly attacked Yogesh with sharp-edged weapons, inflicting fatal injuries. Yogesh died on the spot following the assault, police said. The three accused are absconding, police added.Locals said there had been frequent quarrels between the brothers over property, which ultimately escalated into violence. The property row was drawn for about seven years.Keragodu police personnel rushed to the spot, conducted an inspection, and registered a case. SP V G Shobharani visited the spot.
