Kalaburagi: Mudhol police has arrested a man for allegedly murdering his wife at Yanagundi village of Sedam taluk in Kalaburagi district. Bhimashappa Dodmani, the accused, has been remanded to judicial custody for killing Renuka — the latter was opposing his alleged extramarital relationship. Recently, Renuka noticed Bhimashappa’s cellphone getting a call from a woman. After she enquired about the caller, a heated argument broke out between the couple. Enraged, Bhimashappa took Renuka to a field on Sept 4 and allegedly killed her. He later attempted to conceal the crime by claiming that Renuka committed suicide — he allegedly hung her body from a tree. Suspicious of the circumstances surrounding her death, Renuka’s parents filed a complaint at Mudhol police station. Police investigated the case and concluded that Bhimashappa murdered his wife. He was subsequently arrested and sent in judicial custody.
