Haveri: A man attempted to murder his wife with a knife at the city family court during her divorce hearing on Saturday. Praveen Kumar stabbed his wife, Padmavati, 30, a resident of Davangere.Tired of ongoing disputes and arguments, Padmavati filed for divorce at the family court. Following the court’s instructions, she appeared for mediation at the centre within the court premises. However, Praveen brought a knife to the hearing. During the proceedings, he stabbed Padmavati multiple times. Police quickly intervened, seized the knife from Praveen, and took him into custody.Padmavati, who was severely injured and collapsed in a pool of blood, was rushed to the district Chigateri public hospital for treatment by police and lawyers. Praveen, who was also injured during the attack, was taken to the local police station for a statement and then to the district hospital for treatment. A case was registered at the local police station regarding the incident.
