Koppal: KS Hospital, a multi-speciality facility located in the city, hosted a ceremony honouring teachers on Sunday, as part of Teachers’ Day celebrations.The event, which was organised in collaboration with the district and taluk branches of the Karnataka State High School Teachers’ Association, attracted over 350 govt high school teachers, with more than 54 receiving honours.During the keynote speech, assistant professor Dr Sharanabasappa Biliyeli said that teachers are the architects of the nation and that social reform can only be realised through their efforts. In addition to recognising these educators, KS Hospital has arranged a complimentary health check-up camp for all teachers in the district from September 7-13.“The vision of Dr Basavaraj Kyavatar, the hospital’s head, who is involved in numerous social initiatives, significantly contributes to the enhancement of society,” stated Prof Biliyeli.DDPI Somashekaragouda remarked that honouring teachers and providing free health camps will invigorate them, ultimately benefiting the students as well.Dr Basavaraj Kyavatar, head of the KS Hospital, remarked, “This initiative and the free health camp have been organised as part of my desire to serve teachers. It is our responsibility to show respect to those who have taught us to live with dignity.”Teachers who excelled in their service, such as Sharanappa Sunkad, Jagadish, Mahadevappa Vandali, Channabasava Gadag, Prabhu Shivanagouda, and Sangayya Hiremath, among others, were honoured.BEO Hanumanthappa, office bearers of the teachers’ association, including Zakir Hussain Kuknur, Martanda Rao Desai, Shivanand Kunikerimath, Mailaragouda Hosamani, Shankaragouda Malipatil, Iranna Hebbal, Siddalingappa Shagoti, Sampath Kumar, and Shivanagouda Police Patil, along with KS Hospital staff and hundreds of teachers, participated in the event.
