KLE Society celebrates 110th Foundation Day

Caption: 110th Foundation Day of the Karnataka Lingayat Education (KLE) Society, inaugurated at Dr BS Jirge Auditorium, JN Medical College Campus, Belagavi on ThursdayBelagavi: Swami Bodhamayananda Maharaj, president of Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad, and director of the Institute of Human Excellence, said that due to intense mental stress and the overwhelming influence of social media, individuals in the present society are turning toward unhealthy paths. “It is painful to see young people making grave mistakes out of misplaced pride and infatuation. This is a time for all of us to reflect. We must shape our lives with strong moral values,” he said.He was addressing the celebration event of the 110th Foundation Day of the Karnataka Lingayat Education (KLE) Society, held at Dr BS Jirge Auditorium, JN Medical College Campus, Belagavi on Thursday. He paid homage to the founding seers of KLE Society. Dr MR Jayaram, president of Gokul Education Trust and chancellor of MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, the chief guest, praised KLE as a legacy built on vision, commitment, and sacrifice. He called upon KLES to establish a STEM university focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to support this national mission.Prabhakar Kore, chairman of KLE Society, paid heartfelt tribute to the visionary founders as well as donors and contributors, stating that no amount of respect would be sufficient for their contribution. KLES stands firmly on the foundation of democracy. The institution has grown beyond barriers of language, religion, and caste. Through education, it has met every societal need and made unparalleled contributions in the fields of education, healthcare, and research—playing a vital role in nation-building. Presiding over the event, Mahantesh Koujalgi, president of KLE Society, delivered the presidential address. KLES secretary Dr BG Desai and other dignitaries were present.Students, doctors, teachers, and nursing staff from various KLES colleges who achieved excellence at the state, national, and international levels were honoured and felicitated. A total of 66 gold medals and 49 silver medals were awarded.
