Karnataka II PUC Result 2026: Pass percentage soars to 86.48%, girls dominate as Science stream tightens grip at the top

Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB), on April 9, 2026, announced the results of the II PUC Exam-1 at 3 PM. These results can now be accessed using various online and offline resources and represent the completion of a rigorous process involving thousands of examiners and over six lakh students.II PUC Exam-1 took place from February 28 to March 17, 2026, in 1,217 examination centers in Karnataka. This represents the enormous magnitude of the process of conducting examinations in Karnataka.The evaluation of the question papers also required a huge number of resources. It happened from March 17 to April 2, 2026, and consisted of:

  • 68 evaluation camps
  • 27,739 evaluators

Examinations were held for the students from February 28 to March 17, 2026 in 1,217 centres located throughout Karnataka. This is a testament to the sheer size of the state’s pre-university programme.The examination marking took place within a tight timeframe that included:

The most compelling takeaway from this year’s results is the surge in the overall pass percentage. A total of 6,32,200 students appeared, out of which 5,46,698 cleared the examination, pushing the overall pass percentage to 86.48%. On the contrary, last year, the number was 73.45%.

Result of Karnataka 2nd PUC 2026: Academic performance in different streams

Performance across the streams shows a mixed academic performance, with an overall improvement pattern.Science StreamStudents in Science streams were the winners yet again, with highest passing percentages reported by them.

  • Appeared: 2,90,194
  • Passed: 2,66,071
  • Pass Percentage: 91.69%

Clearly, the Science stream has always been the most competitive and consistently scoring stream.Commerce StreamCommerce students showed a fairly good performance and thus made the gap between the two streams narrower.

  • Pass Percentage: 88.04%

Thus, Commerce stream is showing a steady improvement in their academic performance.Arts StreamAs per the trend of past few years, Arts students continued to score the lowest among all the three streams, though the improvement has been quite marked this year.

It must be pointed out here that there has been a sudden jump from 53.29% in 2025.Arts StreamWhile Arts continues to record the lowest pass percentage among the three, the improvement this year is substantial.

Gender-wise performance: A persistent edge for girls

The gender-wise breakdown once again reinforces a familiar trend, girls outperforming boys, both in participation and success rates.Girls take the leadA total of 3,53,742 girls appeared, with 3,13,770 passing, resulting in a pass percentage of 88.70%. This marks a notable rise from 77.88% in 2025, indicating sustained academic momentum among female students.Boys show improvement, but trail behindAmong boys, 2,78,458 appeared and 2,32,928 passed, taking the pass percentage to 83.65%. While this is a significant improvement from 68.20% last year, the performance gap between genders remains evident.

The results can be viewed by students through various sources such as the website of KSEAB and karresults, along with the KarnatakaOne mobile app. Marks card will be uploaded digitally at the DigiLocker website.In terms of future prospects, there is another important examination named II PUC Exam-2, which will take place from April 30 to May 13, 2026.
