Bangalore Apartments’ Federation has invited committees and residents of all member apartments to participate in a zero-waste initiative for Kadalekayi Parishe 2025, Bengaluru’s beloved groundnut festival to be held from Nov 14 to 18 in Basavanagudi and Malleswaram. The initiative aims to eliminate plastic waste by collecting used paper bags or producing newspaper bags for distribution to festival vendors. Member apartments can contribute in two ways. *Volunteer Power: Nominate a resident volunteer to lead bag collection and set up a friendly drop-off point within the apartment. * Family & Community Workshop: Host a fun event where residents, including children, make newspaper bags. All collected bags must be handed over at a designated point in each apartment complex by Nov 10. For pickup arrangements, participants can contact Dhruv Nagarajan at 99725 32062, providing their apartment name and address and the name and phone number of the contact person. BAF has urged member apartments to collect bags daily or weekly and ensure they are placed at the collection point before the handover deadline.
