Govt sanctions Rs 90 cr for speaker’s constituency

Mangaluru: Assembly speaker UT Khader said that the govt has sanctioned Rs 90 crore to take up road development works in the Mangaluru constituency. He told reporters on Tuesday, that work has already commenced on most of the roads in Ullal, Thokkottu, Konaje, and other parts of the constituency.He said funds were released under various schemes, including the CRF and special grants for road repairs in Mangaluru constituency. Officials were given instructions to submit reports with details of the roads that need urgent repair in the constituency. Accordingly, an additional grant was sanctioned, he said.“The works on major stretches have already begun. I have directed officials to address major potholes on priority. Officials will be held accountable if accidents occur due to potholes. A case will be booked against engineers if substandard work on roads causes fatal accidents,” he warned.
