Kalaburagi: Unemployed youth in the Kalyana Karnataka region have reason to cheer with the upcoming launch of ‘Prabuddha Academy’, a govt-run coaching centre aimed at helping job aspirants.District minister Priyank Kharge told TOI that the academy building, built at a cost of Rs 29.5 crore will be inaugurated next week. “It will help young aspirants crack competitive UPSC, KPSC, banking and other govt exams. Candidates will face mock tests focused on communication, IQ, social quotient and psychometric tests. The building is constructed using funds from the social welfare department and Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board,” he added.DC Fouzia Taranum said that a MoU will be done with ace coaching organisations.Sunil Kulkarni, a techie and president of Kalyana Karnataka Grahakara Vedike, termed it a positive development in the region. “Kalyana Karnataka region is a synonym for backwardness. The meagre involvement of local candidates in the executive is one of the reasons. If more local officials get inducted into the executive estate of the govt, they understand the situation better,” he commented.
