Girl killed, family injured in collision on Mani Mysuru Highway

MANGALURU: A four-and-a-half-year-old girl died, and her family members sustained injuries after an autorickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a car on the Mani–Mysuru National Highway near Parpunja Abroad Hall in Olamogaru village on Saturday. The deceased is Sazwa Fathima.According to the complaint filed by Bannur Hanif, the incident occurred at around 4:15 pm. Hanif, along with his wife, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and three children, was travelling from Bolwar, Puttur, in an autorickshaw. When they reached the spot, a car, allegedly driven rashly and negligently by a person identified as Lakshmibadiraj, came from the wrong side of the road and collided with the autorickshaw.Due to the impact, the autorickshaw overturned, and the occupants sustained injuries. Hanif’s daughter, Sazwa Fathima, succumbed to injuries.Based on the complaint, the Puttur Rural Police have registered a case under Sections 281, 125(a), 125(b), and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is on.
