Mandya: Mandya district superintendent of police Mallikarjuna Baladandi said four individuals were arrested in connection with a murder case.The SP identified the murder accused as Shivakumar of Minjiborakkoppalu, Harsha of Palahalli, Abhishek of Kyathanahalli, and Shivu of Byatethimmanakoppalu. The case is related to the death of Shashankgowda of Kyathanahalli.According to him, Shivakumar and his friends were partying on the outskirts of their village on Nov 18 when a heated argument broke out. Shivakumar allegedly assaulted Shashank, causing severe bleeding. While his friends attempted to take him to a hospital, he died on the way. Fearing consequences, they allegedly shifted the body to his house and falsely claimed he died in an accident. A complaint by Shashank’s mother and postmortem findings led police to uncover the truth, the IPS officer said.Robbery caseMeanwhile, in a robbery case, five people were arrested. The arrested are Gangaraju Ganga, Manjunath, M Shashikumar, Aijoor Krishna, and MK Sandesh, according to police.Police seized about 55g of gold worth Rs 5.5 lakh and a bike allegedly used in the crimes. The gang targeted homes in Koodalakuppe village on Nov 6, threatening residents and stealing cash and jewellery before escaping. Investigations revealed that the main accused, Gangaraju, has 90 cases registered against him in Bengaluru and Mandya. All arrested individuals were remanded to judicial custody.
