Mangaluru: Assembly speaker UT Khader said it is our responsibility to pass on human values to today’s youth and future communities. He was speaking at the ‘Neravu-2025′, an event organised by MRG Group’s Asha Prakash Shetty, held on Thursday.Lauding the ‘Neravu’ initiative of philanthropist K Prakash Shetty, ,chairman of MRG Group, the speaker said that at the end of one’s life, only the name will remain eternal. “Life is a priceless jewel that should be lived with peace, coexistence, love, and trust. Prakash Shetty’s life should be an ideal for all of us. We must support Prakash Shetty’s resolve to stand with oppressed people from all communities, and build a harmonious and peaceful society,” said Khader.Prakash Shetty said, “With divine strength and blessings, I grew as an entrepreneur. In 2019, I started the ‘Neravu’ initiative, responding to my close ones’ suggestions. The financial aid provided today should benefit recipients across seven districts. This year marks the seventh year of the ‘Neravu’ initiative. After the decade of celebration, there is a plan to give a collective form to the beneficiaries of the ‘Neravu’ initiative. With this expansion, it will be possible to assist at least 14,000 families annually,” he added.Following the event, financial aid totalling over Rs 9.5 crore was distributed to around 4,000 families and more than 100 organisations. Present on the stage were Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, Asha Prakash Shetty, Mohan Alva, president of Alva’s Education Trust, Kapu MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, and MRG Group MD Gaurav P Shetty.
