Mangaluru: AICC secretary PV Mohan urged KPCC president DK Shivakumar to fulfil the long-pending appointments of boards and corporations in Karnataka. In a letter to the KPCC president, Mohan stated that for several months, Congress workers and local functionaries across the state were waiting with great hope and anticipation for the announcement of appointments to the vacant posts of chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, and members of various boards and corporations. These appointments are not just about positions – they are about recognition, responsibility, and motivation for the thousands of loyal workers who stood by the party in every struggle, he stated.“At this moment, when the people of Karnataka are preparing to celebrate the grand festival of Dasara, the Naada Habba, there could be no better occasion to gift our workers the good news they have long awaited. Announcing the final list of appointments during this auspicious period will not only uplift their morale, but it will also inspire them to work with renewed vigour in the forthcoming local body elections, ensuring a resounding victory for the Congress party,” he explained.“Though a few appointments were made, nearly 39 boards are still awaiting chairpersons and vice-chairpersons, and over 1,000 member posts remain vacant. This prolonged delay disheartened many dedicated workers who sacrificed their time and energy for the party. Keeping them waiting further would only deepen their disappointment,” said Mohan.“I understand that based on the recommendations of our MLAs, MLCs, MPs, DCC presidents, and other senior leaders, a list of eligible candidates was already reviewed and finalised. What remains is the issuance of govt orders. I humbly request that you take immediate steps in this regard, so that our workers are entrusted with responsibilities without further delay,” Mohan urged. The matter was already communicated to Randeep Singh Surjewala, Congress general secretary in charge of Karnataka, he added.
