Bengaluru: As part of preparation for the Legislative Council elections due next year for four seats — two each from the graduates’ and teachers’ constituencies — the election commission published a draft electoral roll on Nov 25. According to the official release from the office of the chief electoral officer, the final electoral rolls will be published on Dec 30. Eligible teachers and graduates in the Karnataka West Graduates’ Constituency, South East Graduates’ Constituency, Karnataka North-east Teachers’ Constituency and Bangalore Teachers’ Constituency can submit claims and objections to the draft rolls until Dec 12. The commission will verify submissions by Dec 25. The draft list shows 21,496 voters in the Bangalore Teachers’ Constituency and 28,984 voters in the North-east Teachers’ Constituency. There are 1,51,374 voters in the South East Graduates’ Constituency and 74,311 voters in the West Graduates’ Constituency.
