Mysuru: As part of the Dasara festival, the state-level Dasara CM cup sports meet 2025 will be held from Sept 22 to 25. Chief minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the event at 4.30pm on Sept 22 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium.Speaking to reporters, commissioner of the youth empowerment and sports, R Chetan said, “The annual Dasara sports meet is conducted to encourage rural talent. This year’s meet will see participation from 3,230 athletes across five categories, including 646 athletes in the newly added local category.”He said competitions will be held in 26 sporting disciplines spread across 13 venues in Mysuru. Events will include mainstream as well as traditional and special sports, giving the festival a unique blend of culture and competition. For the first time, technology is being extensively used to streamline the event. A dedicated portal — www.dasaracmcup.com/dyes — has been launched, providing details of athletes, venues, competition schedules, event directors, and results.Alongside regular sports, local and traditional games such as blind chess, cycle polo, karate, bodybuilding, and Chamundi hills climbing competition on Sept 24, have been included. Dasara sub-committee special officer and MDA secretary AT Johnson and assistant director Bhaskar Naik were present.
