Cong hiding failures through theatrics: MLA Bellad

Dharwad: “Development in the state has become a mirage, and Congress govt is staging political drama to cover up its failures,” said deputy leader of the opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Arvind Bellad.Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Bellad alleged that chief minister Siddaramaiah and the Congress govt have completely ignored farmers’ problems and are instead focused on issues related to the RSS. “They are fighting for power instead of working for the welfare of the state. While leaders in Andhra Pradesh are travelling abroad to attract IT/BT investments, our leaders are busy indulging in internal politics,” he criticised. When asked about his political views, Bellad said, “Congress senior leader BK Hariprasad should refrain from making statements against the RSS. Upholding BR Ambedkar’s principles is a good thing, but everyone should work collectively with a sense of national purpose,” he said.Commenting on the political situation within the Congress, Bellad remarked, “Siddaramaiah is a shrewd politician. He recently revealed Satish Jarkiholi as a potential CM candidate, despite his limited support. Soon, the names of G Parameshwara and other family members of Kharge will also emerge. DCM K Shivakumar, however, will not easily give up his ambition for the top post.”Bellad added that Dharwad city bus terminal will be inaugurated on Nov 1. “We have already requested time from transport minister, and soon both Hubballi and Dharwad city bus terminals will be open for public,” he said.Meanwhile, Union minister Pralhad Joshi accused Congress of being consumed by internal rivalry and said “Within the Congress, it appears that whoever criticises PM Narendra Modi, the BJP and the RSS the most, stands a better chance of becoming the chief minister,”
