CM likely to inaugurate Sangolli Rayanna Museum: Minister

Speaking to the media, minister Tangadagi said CM Siddaramaiah was likely to inaugurate the museum on or after Jan 19.Speaking after visiting Veerabhoomi, where Rayanna was hanged by the British, minister Shivaraj Tangadagi said the museum was built with the aim of making everyone aware of Rayanna’s patriotism, as he sacrificed his life for the country. Work on the Sangolli Rayanna Museum is almost complete, except for cleaning the lake and constructing statues of Rayanna’s companions. Chief minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the museum on or after Jan 19.The minister pointed out that the quality of various works should be maintained and the pending works should be completed within the time frame. These works included the construction of the museum, hologram viewing, statues, loudspeakers, caves, Kavala Hill, dimension cinema, event images, roads, parks, cafeterias, vehicle parking arrangements, toilets, the compound, and lighting.As per the demand of tourists, a plan was made to open the museum soon without causing any inconvenience to them. The Rayanna Museum was built at an estimated cost of Rs 75 crore. School and college students will be given concessional admission, he said.Karnataka State Guarantee Scheme Implementation Authority chairperson HM Revanna said since Rayanna’s birthplace was in Nandagad, a museum with statues depicting Rayanna’s life story was built in Nandagad. The museum will attract many visitors in the coming days, he added.Khanapur MLA Vitthal Halagekar, Sangolli Rayanna Development Authority commissioner R Shalini, probationary IAS officer Abhinav Jain, Kannada & culture department deputy director Vidyavati Bhajantri, ZP planning director Ravi Bangarappanavar, and various district-level officials were present.
