Mangaluru: Under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), a total grant of Rs 24.7 crore was approved for establishing 38 Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres (HWC) in Dakshina Kannada district this year, said MP Capt Brijesh Chowta.With the aim of developing health infrastructure in rural areas, funding was approved under the PM-ABHIM scheme for setting up new Ayushman Bharat HWCs in almost all taluks of Dakshina Kannada district. Each centre will receive Rs 65 lakh, which will be used to provide necessary infrastructure, including suitable buildings. The tender process for establishing these new centres in a total of 38 villages will be completed soon, the MP said.The establishment of HWCs in the district will significantly improve healthcare services in rural areas. These centres will also provide essential health services to villages lacking primary health centres, he said, expressing gratitude to PM Narendra Modi’s govt and the health ministry for approving the funds.Centres will come up in Puttur taluk, Sullia, Bantwal taluk, Belthangady taluk, Mangaluru taluk and Moodbidri.
