Bengaluru: Tumakuru city police registered a suo motu FIR against Vijayapura City MLA Basavanagouda Patil Yatnal, accusing him of making a hate speech during a yatra in Tumakuru Saturday. Yatnal had participated in Ganesha festival celebrations at BGS Circle on that day.According to the FIR, Yatnal passed derogatory comments against a community, chief minister Siddaramaiah and Congress govt. “We have issued a notice to Yatnal, directing him to appear before the investigating officer to make his statements,” a senior police officer said.
