Kalaburagi: Two bikers were killed in a head-on collision between a car and a motorcycle near Mahagaon Cross in Kamalapur taluk of Kalaburagi district on Sunday night. The deceased are Akash Chndrakanth Dhanavant, 19, from Siragapur village in Kamalapur taluk, and Sushil Mallikarjun, 28, from Bhusanagi village in the same taluk. Because of the collision, motorcycle caught fire, killing the riders. Dhanavant died on the spot, while Mallikarjun succumbed to burns en route to the hospital. According to police, the motorbike was travelling from Siragapur towards Mahagaon Cross, while the car was heading from Hyderabad to Kalaburagi when they collided head-on. Mahagaon police have registered a case.
