Bengaluru’s St. Joseph’s 1969 batch relives college days at 56th reunion

One of the most touching moments from the event was when former professors, Mr. Swaminathan and Mr. T. Balasubramanian, and Ms. Lousia Mathai reunited with their students, recalling classroom stories and campus life from over five decades ago.

An LED presentation rolled through memories of past reunions in 1999, 2009, and 2019, with heartfelt video messages from those who couldn’t attend. Enlarged graduation photos from the BA and BSc classes became conversation starters, each face on the wall unlocking a flood of shared memories.

Planting memories

The day began with a spiritual prayer led by Fr. Denzil Lobo, after which mementoes and gifts were presented to guests, teachers, and alumni. A sapling was planted on campus to mark the day, a symbol of growth and continuity. In a fitting tribute, 56 saplings will be planted at St. Joseph’s new Bannerghatta campus, sponsored by Rotary District 3191, ensuring the spirit of the 1969 batch lives on for generations.
