Bengaluru’s habitual drug peddler booked

Bengaluru: City police booked a 31-year-old alleged habitual drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PITNDPS Act) and handed him over to judicial custody of Bengaluru Central Prison for one year’s detention.The accused is Syed Mubarak, also known as Mubarak or Mubbi, from Chamrajpet. Police records show Mubarak was arrested on drug peddling charges as early as 2018. So far, he was arrested in six drug peddling cases involving 1,500kg of ganja. Besides, he faces an attempted murder case. He was on the run, with courts issuing non-bailable warrants against his name, a senior police officer said.
