Bengaluru police register case against advocate for trying to hurl shoe at Chief Justice of India

Bengaluru: The Vidhana Soudha police have registered an FIR against an advocate from Delhi who tried to hurl a shoe at the Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai recently. A senior officer said that they registered a zero FIR as the incident occurred in the courtroom of the Supreme Court (SC) on October 6.An advocate, Bhaktavatsala, lodged a complaint and FIR was registered under the BNS sections 132 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty) and 133 (assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour a person, otherwise than on grave provocation). The case will be transferred to the jurisdiction police station for further processing.
