As thousands of passengers thronged Metro stations Monday morning after a long weekend, Namma Metro trains ran packed across all three lines. High footfall was reported at stations along Tumakuru Road, Majestic, RV Road, Kengeri on Mysuru Road, and several others. At Yeshwantpur, the surge in passengers forced security staff to temporarily close entry points from 8:50am to 9:03am to manage the rush. A BMRCL official said, “Higher footfall at stations after a long weekend is a common phenomenon. On Monday, several stations along Tumakuru Road saw increased passenger numbers. He said almost 6.7 lakh passengers travelled on the Green, Purple, and Yellow lines by 5pm Monday.KSPCB gets 68 new vehiclesChief Minister Siddaramaiah Monday flagged off 68 Parisara Vahini vehicles procured by Karnataka State Pollution Control Board at a cost of nearly Rs 7.7 crore. Police said the accused was selling the drug on KR Road and a case was registered against him under NDPS Act. The man has been remanded in judicial custody.
