Bengaluru: A 30-year-old police constable was arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching a 16-year-old student at Freedom Park Friday evening.The accused, Yamuna Naik, is assigned to RT Nagar police station in the northern division. Following a complaint filed by the minor, Upparpet police apprehended Naik Saturday and he has since been remanded in judicial custody at Bengaluru central prison.
According to police, the girl had been visiting Freedom Park with her college friends when Naik, who was stationed at the park, approached the group under the pretence of conducting inquiries and allegedly touched the minor inappropriately.A case has been registered against the constable under the relevant sections of the Pocso Act.
