Belagavi: The 17th Kannada Sahitya Sammelana of Belagavi district is scheduled to take place on Jan 10 and 11 at the Adinath Jain Digambara Sabha Bhavan in Harugeri village of Raibag taluk. Renowned writer SV Mali will preside over the literary conference, while senior litterateur Professor SG Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the Sammelana on the morning of Jan 10.The programme will begin at 8am on Jan 10 with senior citizen Mahadev Jadhav hoisting the national flag. Kannada Sahitya Parishad Belagavi district president Mangala Metgud will hoist the Kannada Sahitya Parishad flag, followed by the hoisting of the state flag by Kannada Sahitya Parishad Raibag taluk president Iranagouda Patil.Religious leaders Chandrashekar Shivacharya Swamiji of Hukkeri Hiremath and Prabhu Channabasava Swamiji of Athani Motagi Math will grace the occasion. MP Jagadish Shettar will inaugurate the book stall, while MP Priyanka Jarkiholi will inaugurate the painting exhibition. Rajya Sabha member Iranna Kadadi and MP Vishweshvar Hegde Kageri will release books published by the Kannada Sahitya Parishad, according to a release.
