Speaking after distributing scholarships worth Rs 3.6 lakh to 34 and tabs worth Rs 2.6 lakh to 15 girl students of Kuruvinakoppa, Dhumwad, Gambhyapur and Devalinganakoppa villages which have been adopted by Karnatak University under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, he said Avasara Foundation has been providing scholarships to girl students from rural areas to pursue higher education. He said the Foundation has collaborated with the commerce department in Karnatak College, Dharwad in starting logistic training. KU vice-chancellor AM Khan hailed Avasara Foundation for its goodwill gesture and called upon the recipients of scholarships and tabs to utilise them properly. Malavika Chaturvedi, MD of Avasara Foundation, recalled her days as a student of Karnatak University and said she was happy to be able to help the varsity students in a small way. Coordinator of Mahayogi Veman Peetha HB Neelagund and coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan cell Chetan JD also spoke.
