Bengaluru: Chikkaballapura police arrested expelled Congress functionary Rajiv Gowda after a 13-day search in connection with allegedly abusing and threatening a woman civic official in Shidlagatta.Gowda, who unsuccessfully contested the last assembly elections on a Congress ticket, is accused of verbally abusing Amrutha Gowda, commissioner of Sidlagatta city municipal council, over the removal of a banner put up by his supporters to promote a film starring a minister’s son. A video of the alleged phone call, in which Gowda is heard using abusive language and issuing threats, went viral.Police arrested him near Karnataka–Kerala border while he was allegedly trying to flee.
