Ballari: In Toranagallu, a mother was apprehended by police on Saturday on charges of murdering her two-month-old baby girl.According to police, Priyanka from Bihar threw her daughter, Ansika, into the Tungabhadra High Level canal in the early morning. She later returned home and told her husband that the baby had been kidnapped. She also called 112, Emergency Response Support System, and narrated the same story.The 112 team swiftly swung into action and visited the location. Meanwhile, police from Toranagallu station checked the CCTV footage, which showed Priyanka leaving with the baby and later returning alone.Upon inquiry, Priyanka revealed that she had three daughters, including Ansika, and was unable to look after all of them due to her ill health. Her husband, Sanoj Kumar from Bihar, works in Jindal, and she felt it was difficult to care for her children.Ballari Rural police later found Ansika’s body in the canal. Priyanka has now been taken into custody on charges of murdering her daughter.
