Mysuru: The Regional Centre of Visvesvaraya Technological University, Mysuru, is organising regional-level Techno-Cultural Fest ‘YUKTI 2026′ at its premises on Feb 19 and 20. This fest is a regional-level technical and cultural event in which students from various colleges will participate in diverse competitions. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, HM Nanjundaswamy, regional director of VTU Mysuru, said that around 53 engineering colleges are expected to take part in this cultural programme. The main objective of the event is to uphold and promote our rich art and culture. “While our students are technically proficient, this platform provides them with an opportunity to showcase their cultural and artistic talents as well,” he said.The event will be inaugurated by the vice-chancellor, S Vidyashankar. Film actor Sharan, actress Sonal Monterio, actor Dhananjay Kumar, singer Vasuki Vaibhav, and playback singer Anish Vidyashankar will attend.During the two-day event, competitions for students include group classical dance, solo dance, rangoli, fashion show, roadies, skit (short play), mime, dumb charades, collage, code rush (coding challenge), fire hacks (debugging challenge), painting, photography, Mad Ads, solo singing, group singing, new product launch, group dance, stand-up comedy, and general knowledge quiz. Students must register to participate in these competitions. More than 1,200 students will be seen in action, competing in more than 22 different events.Ali Ahmed, HoD computer science; Prakruthi P, special officer, Centre for Online Education, VTU Mysuru; Prof Prasannakumar from the department of mechanical engineering; Prof Keerthi Gowda; and Prof Thimmaraju were also present.
