Multiple strikes were reported nationwide, including areas surrounding the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Smoke was seen rising from Tehran as authorities closed roads and responded to explosions. US President Donald Trump described the operation as a massive effort to neutralize Iran’s military capabilities and prevent the development of nuclear weapons.Iran’s foreign ministry vowed to defend its territory, with the Revolutionary Guard reportedly launching counterattacks, including drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and the US military installations in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.The attacks mark a sharp escalation in already heightened tensions in the Middle East, with at least 85 confirmed deaths in southern Iran alone.
