Bengaluru: A 32-year-old hotel worker was found dead in a sitting position under a tree in JP Nagar 1st Phase Friday night. The deceased, Tilak Kumar Singh, was from Himachal Pradesh and resided in Whitefield.The incident came to light when the public alerted the police upon seeing the man, sitting beneath the tree, unmoved. There were blood stains around. Jurisdictional police from JP Nagar station rushed to the spot and found that Singh had died long ago. There were deep stab wounds on his neck, cheek, top of the head, and right palm. Interestingly, the police discovered that Singh himself purchased a knife in a nearby shop.However, police said they cannot announce whether it is a murder or a suicide. “We cannot come to the conclusion that it is a suicide case just because Singh purchased the knife. The wounds are deep, and we are waiting for expert opinion to proceed with the investigation,” an investigating officer said.The police said Singh’s brother and a friend have come to the police station and are making their statements.
