Mysuru: President Droupadi Murmu is schelduled to visit Mysuru on Sept 1 and 2. The district administration, police, and Mysuru City Corporation have made extensive preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of events. The routes the President will be visiting have received a significant facelift.The President will arrive at Mysuru Airport from Delhi at 3pm on Monday. Her first engagement will be at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), where she will inaugurate the institute’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Established in 1966, AIISH is a premier centre for research and treatment in communication disorders, and the 60th anniversary marks a major milestone in its journey.Later in the evening, she will stay at Radisson Blu Hotel and is scheduled to visit Sri Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hills around 8pm. On Tuesday morning, between 8am and 8.30am, she will attend a breakfast hosted by Pramoda Devi Wadiyar at Mysuru Palace before concluding her visit. This will be President Murmu’s first official visit to Mysuru since assuming office in July 2022.Traffic, public entry restrictionsChamundi Hill: Public entry will be restricted from 2pm to 8.30pm on Sept 1. Temple darshan will be permitted only from 7.30am to 2pm and after 8.30pm.Mysuru Palace: Closed to the public from 8.50am to 11.30am on Sept 2.AIISH: The institute will remain closed on Sept 1, with treatment services suspended and public entry barred.
