Mysuru: District minister H C Mahadevappa on Saturday said the BJP-JD(S) alliance in the upcoming local body elections will have no impact on Congress.Speaking to reporters, Mahadevappa said that in previous elections both parties had an “unofficial understanding”, while this time the alliance was made official. “Beyond this, there is no change. This will not affect Congress in any way,” he said.Reiterating political stability in the state, Mahadevappa said Siddaramaiah will continue as chief minister till 2028. He criticised the BJP for “waiting endlessly for something to happen”, and added that the party never came to power with an absolute majority. “When nothing materialises, they console themselves, saying the grapes are sour. This episode is no different,” he said.On speculation surrounding KPCC president and deputy CM DK Shivakumar’s visit to Delhi, Mahadevappa dismissed any political significance. He clarified that Shivakumar travelled in his capacity as an observer for the Assam assembly elections. “There is no special meaning to be read into it (the Delhi visit),” he said.Responding to BJP’s protest rally in Ballari, Mahadevappa said the incident stemmed from a confrontation between two people’s representatives. “Public representatives must act responsibly. Actions that disrupt law and order or inconvenience the public are unacceptable,” he said.
