Bengaluru: The maker of a fake gun was arrested after a fellow criminal threatened the cashier of a bar-cum-restaurant at Nandagudi, Hoskote, for refusing to serve free liquor to his boss, a rowdy.The “double-barrel gun”, which police seized later, was made of two metal pipes with a wooden stock and a black belt. It had no firing pin.
The man who made the gun, Aathiq Khan, a tinkering shop owner, was arrested. Cops are searching for Jahid Khan, rowdy sheeter with Nandagudi police station, and his second associate.The drama unfolded around 6.40pm Sunday, when a masked man, holding a country-made double-barrel gun, shouted at the cashier and other staffers at the bar-cum-restaurant for refusing free liquor to his boss. He was accompanied by Jahid Khan and Aathiq Khan. Shouting in Kannada, the man said: “Do you guys have any idea what fate you will meet for refusing liquor to my boss? Do you know who he is? Don’t you people wish to live long?” A customer standing next to the ‘gunman’ tried to pacify the three men but failed. Another customer called cops. “A patrolling police vehicle reached the spot immediately. Seeing the cops, the trio ran away. However, police managed to catch Aathiq Khan and seize his gun,” a senior police officer said.
