Mangaluru: A local court sentenced a man to four months in jail and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 for sexually harassing a woman aboard a KSRTC bus travelling from Sullia to Puttur.The incident occurred on April 25, 2022, when the accused, Mohammad Sattar of Madnur village, misbehaved with a woman seated next to him while the bus was moving. Based on the complaint filed by the victim, a case was registered at the Puttur Town police station.The investigation was led by then sub-inspector Rajesh KV, who filed the chargesheet in the court. Principal senior civil judge & ACJM, Puttur, Prakriti Kalyanpur, held the accused guilty. In case of non-payment of the fine, the convict will serve an additional month of imprisonment. Kavitha K, assistant public prosecutor, represented the state during the trial.
