The protesters, who went to the deputy commissioner’s office in a procession, submitted a memorandum to the govt through the DC.In a memorandum to the state govt, they stated that, for the past five decades, MES leaders in Belagavi used the Maharashtra govt to display their activities. “Now they plotted to build a Maharashtra Gadi Bhavan in Belagavi. The district administration should not allow the construction of such a building under any circumstances,” they urged.In a memorandum submitted to MP Shettar, they stated that when the issue of the Belagavi border and language comes up, the leaders of Maharashtra raise their voices in Parliament without any party affiliation. However, the Karnataka MPs remain silent. It is the responsibility of the MPs to respond to the leaders of Maharashtra, and if they remain silent, all Kannada speakers will have to launch a mass movement.
