Koppal: Deputy commissioner Suresh B Itnal directed the submission of a re-proposal for the acquisition of 93.1 acres of land to implement the sanctioned works in the first phase and approved in the second phase at Anjanadri Hills. The decision was made during a meeting held by the tourism department at the DC’s office on Monday, to review the progress of development projects near historical tourist sites in the district.The plan includes constructing theme-based stairs at the front and rear of Anjanadri Hills, a circular path, and a ropeway. The deputy commissioner instructed that steps must be taken to obtain a NOC for the 7 acres of forest land required for these projects.The DC directed officials to prepare the final report of the heritage impact assessment study, which encompasses the first and second phase works and the ropeway, with an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore for the comprehensive development of Anjaneyaswamy Temple.A DPR should be formulated for the creation of a museum in the old AC office building and for the thorough development of Koppal Fort. An estimate needs to be presented for the conservation of the inscriptions of Ashoka at Gavi Mutt area and Palkigundu, ancient mound on the Malemalleshwara temple, Morera hill in Hirebenakal village, and the monuments of Itagi Mahadev temple. A comprehensive project report should be drafted and submitted for the enhancement of Hulikere in Koppal, the DC said.He also directed the officials to transfer 35 guntas of land designated in survey no. 17 of Anegundi to the tourism department, which is reserved for youth empowerment and sports department to establish a training centre and housing. Additionally, he instructed them to take the necessary actions to designate a total of 20 monuments as state protected, including 17 in Hampi world heritage area management authority and 3 in the Kanakagiri area.
