Bengaluru: The district and taluk hospitals in Karnataka are set to receive 185 new medical staff for their intensive care units (ICUs).The posts of two specialist doctors (physician/anesthetist) each for 19 district hospitals and one specialist doctor each for 147 taluk hospitals will be newly created, according to a govt order on Tuesday. In its proposal, the health dept said that it needed a total of 17 staff members (medical and paramedical) to run an ICU in a district hospital and 12 staff members for ICUs in taluk hospitals. These new posts have been created to accommodate the requests for physicians/anesthetists in the proposal.
