Karnataka high court issues notice in Dharmasthala case plea filed against activists, YouTubers

Bengaluru: The high court Thursday issued notice to the govt, special investigation team probing Dharmasthala case, income-tax dept and Directorate of Enforcement (ED) in response to a plea filed by four petitioners.Tejas A Gowda, a resident of Bengaluru, along with Dhanakirthi Ariga, Bhaskar Badekottu and Surendra Prabhu, all residents of Belthangady taluk in Dakshina Kannada district, sought directions to the respondent authorities to consider their complaints and take appropriate action. In their complaints, the petitioners sought action against activists Mahesh Shetty Thimarody and Girish Mattannavar, and several YouTubers over funding and alleged involvement of foreign agencies in spreading a campaign against Dharmasthala Manjunatha Swamy Temple, its Dharmadhikari, his family members and associated institutions. According to the petitioners, even after a lapse of time, the respondent authorities did not take any action on their complaints.
