Kalaburagi DC directs relocation, vaccination of stray dogs & cattle as per SC order

Kalaburagi: DC B Fauzia Tarannum directed Kalaburagi City Corporation officers to permanently relocate stray dogs from the city and from nearby schools, colleges, bus stands, railway station premises, stadiums, hostels, and hospital premises, which are causing trouble to the public, especially to children. She said they should also be vaccinated.Speaking to TOI, she said she held a district-level committee meeting and directed that stray dogs should be given ABC vaccination and left in the same place as per the order passed by the Supreme Court in Suo Moto WP (Civil) No 5 of 2025 dated Nov 7, 2025, regarding the relocation of dogs in the DC’s office hall and the addition of cattle to the Goshala.She said the stray cattle causing problems for smooth movement on roads, including state and national highways, should be permanently moved to cattle shelters or goshalas and that, as per the Supreme Court’s order, it should be strictly implemented in all urban and rural areas of the district.She said she directed all heads of urban local bodies and rural bodies to act responsibly to comply with the directives of the Supreme Court. She suggested that the education department, health department, transport department, railways, metropolitan corporation, urban development department, rural development and panchayat raj department, youth empowerment and sports department, and the police department submit a policy report to the DC in line with the Supreme Court’s order.
