Internal complaints committee mandatory for firms with more than ten employees

Hubballi: In accordance with the Supreme Court’s order for the implementation of the law on the prevention, prohibition, and redressal of sexual harassment of women at the workplace, it is mandatory for owners of establishments with more than 10 employees to form an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). Many organisations have not yet formed an ICC nor provided information about its formation. As per the court’s directive, the Labour Department officials announced that an ICC should be established, and a copy of the order should be submitted to the office of the Deputy Commissioner in Dharwad and the offices of the Labour Officers at Subdivision 1 and 2, Labour Building, Chaitanyanagar, Priyadarshini Colony, Mahesh PU College Road, Hubballi.
