Mysuru: The Postgraduate Induction Programme 2025–26 for MBA, MCA, and M Tech programmes was held at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) on Wednesday.Shifa Samrin, a senior campus recruiter at a Bengaluru-based company, launched the programme and highlighted the drastic shift in corporate expectations and recruitment trends. “We don’t just look for candidates who excel academically or technically. We seek individuals who can create extraordinary impact and foster positive change around them,” she stressed.Shifa said organisations value people who are adaptable, collaborative, ethical, and empathetic. Curiosity, she noted, is a powerful strength. “Ask questions and stay curious. Connect your learning to real-world problems and work towards solutions that benefit society. Make your work meaningful and impactful,” she said.Shifa also cautioned students against pursuing individual growth at the cost of teamwork. “Industries thrive on collaboration. When ideas are shared, better solutions emerge. Be a strong team player, celebrate collective success, and show empathy toward others,” she said. VVCE principal B Sadashive Gowda, VVS secretary P Vishwanath, and VVCE vice-principal Shobha Shankar were also present.
